Home Search Topics Contact About | Train Wrecks And Damage RepairThere was good reason that Jesus instructed us to pray: Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. We are not always able to avoid temptation and evil. We can*t always see or prevent the train wrecks caused by sin. Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. If there is sin separating between you and God, it is not just that He will not hear you, but you will be unable to hear Him. I believe that most of those who read these messages are Christians. I also believe that there will be some who read these articles on the website that are not Christians. Therefore, I will begin with the first sin that must be confessed and forsaken, that of rejecting Christ. John 1:11-12: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Once you have received Jesus you can begin confessing and forsaking your other sins. Haven*t heard from God lately? Confess and forsake your sin. We commit more sin that we don*t even know about than the sins we do know about, especially when we have the barrier of sin between us and God. At those times we don*t have as much of His help and guidance to deliver us from sin. When we do not confess and forsake our known sin, unknown sins can multiply. It is at least possible to confess and forsake our known sin but not our unknown sin. We ought to acknowledge that we don*t even know about all the sins we commit and ask the Lord to forgive them and help us to forsake them also. The oftener we confess and forsake our known sin, the more the Lord will deliver us from unknown sin. When we understand that we don*t know about all the sins we commit it should be our habit to ask forgiveness and cleansing for them too. 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
